Are you interested in strengthening your drama team, or wanting to begin one and need assistance? Our inCharacter Travel Team would love to facilitate a drama workshop for you and your students and/or adult members! Each workshop lasts approximately two hours and is specifically geared toward your group's experience level. They are conducted primarily by our director, Pastor Brian Sylvia, along with the assistance of our iC staff and students. Pastor Brian's years of drama ministry and theatrical experience (whether performing, directing or teaching) allow him to speak to a variety of experience levels and ministry settings. These sessions are a great combination of fun acting games, learning various drama techniques and instilling a spirit of excellence in your team. A strong belief of inCharacter is that you learn ministry by doing ministry. This is why the Travel Team is such a vital part of what we do in iC. Not only do our students receive their education in the classroom, they also experience what it is to be involved in hands-on ministry training due to our travel throughout the iC school year.
Life on the road takes on many different looks, as the Travel Team visits dozens of churches, youth groups and other ministries across the country each year. We strive for excellence in everything we present on stage, as we minister primarily through spoken drama and human video (drama set to music), preaching, and various forms of media. We have no set cost for churches/youth groups hosting our team for a regular service, but ask for an offering or honorarium. We also ask that meals be provided for our team and housing may potentially be needed.
Over the years, the commitment of our team has remained the same: "Jesus, we will never step on a stage if it isn't for you." This is more than just a statement of why we are involved in the dramatic arts. It is what we instill in our students that no matter where they go in life, our reason for existing is simply to honor and represent the name of Jesus.
